Maloof Inspired Dining Chairs
In this 5 day class, students will be exposed to many advanced techniques, including sculpted joinery, and the famous Maloof housed rabbet joint, which give strength to this piece. And, of course, anyone who has ever considered a Maloof inspired project knows they will be exposed to a myriad of shaping techniques!
Class chairs will be made from American Cherry, for its appearance, strength, and workability
Finishing techniques will be reviewed but not applied during the class. Upon completion of the course, students will have one chair that is glued together, shaped, and is ready for finishing work back at their own home shops. Students will also receive their own set of patterns so that they can make additional chairs at their own shop, to complete an entire set of dining chairs! Roughed out blanks for the various components will also be available for purchase, to expedite the completion of an entire set of chairs. If students choose, they can have us complete their chair(s) to our museum quality standards by taking advantage of our completion service.
This class is limited to only 6 students, so you’ll receive lots of instruction & personal attention !
