Woodworking Fundamentals: Limbert Coffee Table

Limbert158cA scaled down version of Charles Limbert’s classic #158 Library table, our Limbert inspired coffee table offers incredible learning opportunities for the beginning woodworker, and several challenges to even the intermediate level woodworker. This entire piece fits together like a puzzle, and is held together with mortise and tenon joinery, numerous bridle joints, and even a housed lap joint.
You’ll learn how to lay out and cut the oval shaped top and shelf, and the large table top will be flattened and smoothed with hand planes.   Students are encouraged to bring  their own #4 smoother or #5 Jack plane to tune and use in a real world application! There’s a lot of skill building which takes place in this week long course!

Course based on Gregory’s article which appeared in Fine Woodworking magazine.

This class is limited to only 6 students, so you’ll receive lots of instruction & personal attention !
